Good News/Bad News

Sun Nov 22, 2009, 12:07 AM
The good news - after two years of intense study and tons of homework, I finally passed the HESI and was given the privilege to apply to the nursing program. Much to my surprise, I ranked at 49, and got in the first try.

Now the bad news - the professors told us to say good-bye to family and friends for the next two years (four semesters).

The not-so-bad news - they do not have classes in the summer! YAY!

The kicker - I am going to use part of this summer to take a course I feel I need (phlebotomy) that isn't in the program.

The bottom line - I won't have a lot of free time during semesters (even less than my 'not a lot of free time' previously). Unless they are sandbagging, it sounds like I will be chained to my desk for months at a time and let out only long enough to go to clinicals.

During breaks (winter holiday break, spring break, summer) I will try to finish a few things I have started before the big 'crash'. Then... who knows?

  • Mood: Content
  • Listening to: Crickets
  • Reading: Instructions for Access
  • Watching: Myself writing this & homework simultaneously
  • Playing: Multitasker (FAIL)
  • Eating: Nothing
  • Drinking: Coffee laced with Frangelico and Irish Cream. Yum.

Aww, thanks. School ate my life. But things are winding down and I will get a short respite around the middle of next month. However, starting in January it will be full-time balls-to-the-wall (that sounds so naughty but really it's not - it's a fighter pilot thing - the balls being the throttle). Hehe. *hugs* Good to hear from you again. Hope all is well on your end.

Glad to here you're just busy. Things ok here.

Glad things are okay. A couple more weeks... and I get WINTER BREAK! For Christmas I am buying myself an external storage drive and some kind of BACKUP program. I still haven't really put my heart into redoing all my characters after that terabyte drive failed. I have been accepted into the program, with no wait, so my free time meter is about to flatline. They said to say goodbye to our families and friends for the next two years. But then, there is still some time in the summer. June isn't that far away!
